Leather Guide - Love your leather

Leather is a natural product and the uniqueness of each hide is identified on occasion by growth lines, scars and other natural marks which add to the beauty of leather and should not be regarded is a defect.

The selection of the type of leather required depends on the environment and look that is required. Full pigmented leathers will be harder wearing than a full or semi aniline leather. In some applications, aniline or semi aniline leathers will mature over time and develop a patina which will enhance the appearance and give character. If a relatively service free finish is required, it is recommended that a sealed surface leather is used.

For advice on suitability of a particular article, please view our suitability guide and specification sheets which also contain important cleaning information.

All our leathers comply with strict regulations and EU directives covering the use and presence of PCP, CFC, ChromoVI and Azo dyestuffs during the tanning process.
